ctrl LIVE: King Automatic [FR]

One man band, several continents. King Automatic touches down at Control on Sunday, September 6. For nearly 25 years, the French musician has been stretching the one-man-band format well beyond its garage-rock origins. A former drummer for punk outfit Thundercrack, King Automatic went solo at the beginning of the 2000s and started building an entire band around himself. Drums, guitar, keyboards, harmonica and percussion are sampled and looped live, gradually stacking into something much bigger than a one-man setup would suggest.
