Ten years ago, Horse Jumper of Love released an album they barely expected anyone to hear. On November 17, they play it in full at Control. Written when frontman Dimitri Giannopoulos was 19 and quietly released on Bandcamp in 2016, Horse Jumper of Love began as nine rough-edged slowcore songs with few ambitions beyond covering the cost of recording. Word travelled anyway. The self-titled debut gradually became a cult record, its aching guitars, loose production and yearning vocals finding an audience well beyond Boston’s house-show circuit.
